The aging population

In my country, it's our duty to take care of our parents when they grow old. we are educated to pay more attention to be filial to parents and show respect to the old since we are children. But you know the aging population is rapidly increasing right now while the new-born are slowly growing , even fewer. For some part, one child policy are responsible for this situation, which makes it even worse. Besides, due to lack of good welfare system, our parents need to work hard to save money for their late ife. That's why there are more savings and less consumption in China. In the common cases, if one man marry with one woman, who are both one kid in their family, that means they need to take care of four olds at the time. You can see that's a big issue.
What's going on in your country ?

In Switzerland it's more or less the same. We face the issue that, like in China, we won't be able to keep the insurance for the elderly people up. At least for my generation it looks like that we never get the money back we pay now into this pot. Well, I haven't really thought about it further, because it seems just so far away. ;) I haven't even started working and I should already be worried about my life after retirement? That seems a bit odd... I'll think about it a couple of years later and hope that the politicians right now think of something clever till then (I'm not too optimistic, though).

Well, you see, it's really the same problem over here. Less children and the people get older. I suppose, the retirement age will definitely need to be changed until I'm retired. Bad luck for me? ;)

Article states that Japan is aging population

hey guys, i actually read an article somewhere on yahoo the other day. It says japan population is aging as not much birth has been recorded a few years back until now, resulting a decline in younger generation population. Just thought to share :)
