How would you react if someone's telling you her/his name and it sounds like 'pageturner' (Paige Turner), 'merry christmas' (Mary Christmas) or 'stand still' (Stan Still)? You might start laughing or giggling - not the best condition to start a conversation.

I think the hardest part is indeed taking a certain name seriously when you here it partly.
In the Netherlands they also have a list of such names, where they call it 'schaam name' (shame name, literally translated). The 'winner' of most unfortunate name of the year (in 2009 I guess) was 'Fokje Modder', which can be heard as... F* your mother xD
