It does not mean that the apocalypse is coming soon, I think that's a way too easy solution to approach this problem. There is a global change, though. Well, there are tendencies for it. The increase in natural disasters is connected with the climate warming. We should pay attention to these signs... if the permafrost is getting less powerful, the ice melt and there are serious incidents which we can lead back to it, we simply should wake up.

One way to do it are the climate conferences (e.g. the one in Copenhagen), though we need to work together and not every country think for their own profit how it is like today. Anyway, I think there'll be a time when it is necessary to stop the madness of expanding to every corner of the world. Sadly (?), the world is finite and as soon as we realize this, there will be a will to think about the condition. But until then there'll be a lot of strong phonemena, a lot of natural disasters, and badly, a lot of pain for the poorest who don't have the money and power to protect themself as effective as we (Western people) can.

Anyway, a three-legged goat can have much different reasons than the ones I mention. It might be coincidence, it might be a toxic substance or because of anthropogenic influences.
