Plans For Your Future

If you are thinking about your future, where do you want to be in a couple of years? Let’s say, what would you like to have done within the next five years?

For me it’s definitely the university and there might be another huge trip, possibly to another continent. Apart from that I’d like to save some money for the time after my studies (well, just for the trip?) and get the first time in my life something better than just a ‘holiday job’. :-)

And of course I hope that Critizine.com is still living by then and more vivid than ever!

I'd like to have some nice research position, related to a university. Doesn't really matter where, as long as it's in an interesting direction ;). But the subject I'd like to specialize in, is not very common; archaeology & climate. So I really hope to get a job at an institute that has research for this topic ;)
Problem is... I even don't exactly know yet which master I have to do, even if I have to start this september xD. Some months left to decide ;)

I'd also like to do some nice traveling, where to doesn't really matter, as long as it's not too touristy and if you can camp/hike sometimes ;)
The ideal combination would actually be a research position, or just a job, abroad in a nice country :P

And of course, I also hope Critizine can be revived and become enormously vivid ;). Can't you get some of the people you met during your stay in NZ/Oz to this board? :P

I’ll definitely ask some of my acquaintances from my trip whether they’re interested in it. It’s just that I don’t have access to free internet and therefore I have a time limit which makes it quite hard to do all I want in the internet – in fact I’ll do it as soon as I’m back home. Or I might do it in Auckland – free internet access in coffee shops and in the public library – amazing!

@Arianne: That sounds very interesting – so keep us up-to-date and hopefully your way to get there will work out with any problems.

To say something more (I didn’t really go into details), I’ll start my studies (Geography & English) in autumn and I’d love to end up in development aid or environment after a couple of years (and go abroad again). Till then I hope I’ll have enough time to travel around in Europe during my breaks and I suppose I should also work a bit… maybe it’s necessary to save some money for my next journeys. :-)

some key words of my plans:
- getting my driving licence (about the end of the summer this part will be realized)
- get my BA degree (another year to go)
- getting my MA and maybe a PhD.. who knows
- maybe end up in an NGO, EU, European Parliament or any kind of government
- end goal: being a diplomat.. and most of all just be happy :D

On the 4th of may I learned that death is only a second away, so I decided to live in the present
