Legal Driving Age

What's the legal driving age in your country and what do you think would be ideal?

In Switzerland you can get a small motorbike (50ccm) in the age of 16 and also a slow car (up to 40km/h). In the age of 18 you can get the 'general' driver licence for cars and motorbikes and whatever you want (planes, boats...;)). So how is it like in your country?

By the way, we drive on the right side.

Hm... a lot people on the world are driving on the left side - so it can't be that wrong. ;) I had the opportunity to drive both on the left and right side and I must say that it's not that difficult after a while. Sure the first minutes are a bit strange but then, because you also sit on the other side of the car, it's getting normal (I've been driving in New Zealand for about 3 weeks).

It'd be dangerous if you go with an English car to the European mainland, I think (there were also some accidents, by the way). Because then you think in the morning, for example, that it is like usual... and you'll drive on the left instead of the right side.

Haha... that sounds like the 'safe' choice... (or are you simply indecisive?) :D

I just can't get the car straight.. that's more like it. Naaah.. I sometimes have problems with my eyes. So one day I can see quite well where I'm driving.. the other day it's less obvious for me. (And no.. it's not that bad ;-))

Ever encountered a roundabout in a left driving country, while you're used to driving on the right side? Now that's a confusing issue xD. Didn't experience it driving it myself, but as passenger, seeing both my mom and dad making the same mistake by wanting to enter the roundabout from the <for Dotch standards> normal side :P

Yep :P, so you are warned when you drive on another side than used to, especially at roundabouts :P
