Kitchen herbs

I like to use fresh herbs in my dishes because the flavors are much richer. I've recently made a big box measuring 1x1 meter where I've planted some herbs in. Right now I have:

Rosemary
Oregano
Thyme
Parsley
Celery
Coriander
Savory (great for chili)
Basil

In addition I've also planted jalapeño seeds but they are in pots inside.

What herbs do you like to use in you cooking? Do you grow any herbs yourself or do you buy fresh herbs in the supermarket?

Well, I usually use paprika, oregano and basil. I haven't had the idea to grow it on my own... I don't cook enough that it could be worth the effort. ;) So, I usually buy them in the supermarket. In fact, all of these are standard spices, so I don't even have to go and buy them. :P

It is really cool that you're growing spices by yourself... is this the first time you do it?

Yeah it is the first time I'm growing them on this scale. Although I have chive in my garden for some time now, it comes back after every winter. I've tried basil before but it died too soon, I guess it needed more sun. The basil I have now is not doing so good either, maybe it needs a bit more caring this time ;)

I don't use that many herbs usually, but in general I'm quite fond of ginger and cinnamon, curry and some mixed herbs, such as 'Italian' or 'Moroccan'. I don't have any 'fresh' herbs, but my parents have some, so if I cook at home, I might use them.
