Bake a cake!

Anyone with nice cake recipes? As cake is quite easy to make with flour, eggs sugar and simply what's left in your cupboard. So you have any nice recipes for cake? And do you have a favourite kind of cake?

My fav cake is.. carrot cake :P, tho you have to get used to it and it needs the glazing on top, otherwise it's not a real carrot cake, haha :P

At the moment I'm trying a new recipe I found on the internet: cake with banana, honey and brown sugar. The dough tasted good, so I'm curious to the cake itself :P

The recipe:
Ingredients:
125 g butter
140 g brown sugar
2 sp. honey
2 eggs
1 banana (about 160 g)
200 g flour
2 tsp cinnamon

---

- mash the banana with a fork
- melt the butter along with the brown sugar and honey
- pre-heat the oven on 180 degrees Celcius (standard oven)
- mix the cinnamon with the flour - sieve the mixture in a bowl
- mix the eggs
- add the eggs in small amounts to the dough/batter
- add the banana to the batter
- put the batter in a cake mould
- bake the cake for approx. 35 minutes

and then... enjoy :D

Sounds yummy. I might give a try when I'm bored. haha. Sadly I don't have any recipes by myself... for some really good recipes I should ask my grandmother, I suppose. So I'll do it next time! (As long as I don't forget it). My favourite cake is 'Sacher-Torte'. But in fact I like a lot of different desserts - so no, I'm not really picky and there's always enough space in my belly for some good cake left. ;)

The cake was good! Even my parents approved :P
The cake didn't rise that good - haven't found the reason for that yet, perhaps a different type of flour should be added or so, but nonetheless it tasted good enough :D, perhaps just because it didn't rise properly, haha :P

Ooh, Sacher torte is nice too! I made one last year. Then I switched the marmelade for chocolate spread, as if there wasn't enough chocolate in the cake yet, haha.

Wow, the rainbow cake just looks awesome :D, I'm really going to try that one some time :P. I had plans for making some fancy coloured cakes since a long time, but never got to it. This might be a good one to try :P

And that shows some cool recipes :P, but a little too creative for me ;)

@ Arianne: You should :p It's an easy one to make and it tastes good ^^, so if you're fed up with exams or other school assignments: make the cake! :P

I just found an easy chocolate cake recipe on the internet, which I just had to share with you ;). I uses not so many ingredients and is easy and fun to make if you're in sudden need of chocolate cake :P

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) A small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug (in this case it means it has to be quite big indeed, if you don't have a big mug, you could probably adjust the recipe a little bit)

- Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
- Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
- Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
- Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

I made it a few minutes ago and tastes quite good :P. I didn't put the choco chips in it, because I didn't have them atm and I didn't use the vanila sugar.
